Elo….so it’s been a little while since we did a blog. Unfortunately-or fortunately we’ve been very busy the last few months Gigging, recording and rehearsing in numerous guises and when we get that busy, everything else stops!!!!! Sorry……
Anyways, Bayfield Booth have their album out now and it’s a damn fine piece of work, and they very kindly invited me and Kelly to perform on it with them together with a cast of Suffolk and Derbyshire luminaries also. Check it out if you haven’t already done so.
We’ve been rehearsing with a full band this last few weeks for our upcoming gigs starting this Friday at Brown’s Field in Cambridge courtesy of our pal Mr Karl Wilks, and we’ll be joined on stage by David Edward Booth on Drums, mandolin and vocals, our lovely and talented pal Kilbey on bass and vocals and the awesome talent what is Andy Trill on lead guitar and vocals. Next week we have our friends Drew Young from New Orleans and Amy Lott from Mississippi coming over to the UK , and we’ll be joining them for a series of gigs also. Maverick Festival starts on Friday 5th July late afternoon, and we’re very lucky to be playing all 3 days. This is an awesome family festival and is highly recommended. Paul Spencer, the organiser has been supporting Americana music in a massive way for many years, and has been responsible for really helping some of these artistes get their music across to the masses, and now this type of music is becoming extremely popular all over the World.
Immediately following on from Maverick, David and I will be joining Drew and flying over to Sweden for a series of gigs that he’s arranged. All extremely exciting for us, and we’re hoping you’ll come and join us at Maverick for some good times and perhaps a glass or two!!!!

On the recording front, I’ve written an almost a capella song for Kelly called “Jordan (The Glory Road) and she’s recorded this absolutely perfectly with just Cello and guitar accompaniment and Mr Booth and I pretending to be a choir..- a copy of this has now gone over to Nashville to Ricky Skaggs Family label with the hope that he and his wife will record it….we’re hoping so…!!!
And that’s it….we’re off to play.
